7–13, the ASA Staffing Index has remained
steady for a second week, following a gradual
upward push in temporary and contract staffing
employment over the past month.
Temporary employees choose when, where and how they work. In fact, most temporary employees say that flexible work time is important to them. According to a national survey of over 1,000 temporary employees conducted by ASA, the top three highest rated aspects of temporary work include work schedule, number of hours, and work environment. About 28 percent of temporary employees say they work for a staffing firm because it gives them the flexibility to pursue non-work interests.
