Bilingual Court Advocate
Full time position serving multiple counties BASED IN MARTIN COUNTY. The Court Advocate will provide women seeking an Order of Protection with information regarding the Family Court process. Duties will include initial needs assessments, crisis intervention counseling, referrals to community support and legal services, and provide accompaniment/advocacy during civil domestic court appearances. In addition they will also assist with paperwork for domestic violence protective orders and criminal charges and referrals to the appropriate resources, i.e. law enforcement, the County Prosecutor, a municipal court judge, clerk offices, and victim services and compensation. Must be proficient on both verbal and written Spanish.** Background in Criminal Justice or Human Services preferred!
